Ahh Fall, when things start to cool off and redheads everywhere rejoice. Summer never has, nor will it ever be, my favorite season. Playing hide-and-go-seek with the sun is the worst part about summer, so I fully embrace fall as the season for redheads. Everything about it complements we gingers so well. I’m simply overjoyed that I can finally relish in spending time outside.
This year we are lucky to have so many summer styles to adapt and transition their way into the cooler months and still look on trend. Designers pretty much kicked minimalism to the curb this season and added bold floral prints to everything. This is why I fell in love with this floral kimono I found at Forever 21. I thought it was a perfect mix of on-trend fashion mixed with a western-flare staple – fringe. If you don’t like fringe honey, you ain’t no friend of mine!
Accessories are always a major factor for bringing an outfit together. They are also the perfect avenue to let your unique personality shine. I chose to keep the theme of my accessories consistent. I made sure that my belt was a statement piece, so it didn’t get lost amongst the rest of my outfit and that my buckle choker completes the overall feel I was going for. I’m thrilled that chokers have carried their staying power beyond summer? Pure 90’s nostalgia! It doesn’t matter if you prefer a skinny silk scarf over a chunky choker—just make sure something is around your neck to add a little extra oomph to everything!
One of my favorite pieces in this assemble is my hat. I call it my Stevie Ray Vaughn Circa 1983 hat. The man pulls it off immensely, and I think I do a fairly good job too. Hats are always a staple in fall fashion and I don’t see this changing anytime soon. However, they can be finicky and it’s crucial to find one that suits your face shape. A hat can make or break an outfit, as Judy also mentioned in this Hats and Attitude post. Hats really do need to be placed upon a person with a foundation of confidence. If you choose to wear it, wear it proudly. After all, Confidence is always the best accessory!

One of the main things I love about fashion in general is that you can make any style your own. Western and I have a love affair and my western style goes way beyond what a lot of people think western wear is. I live by my vision that you can take any fashion trend in any season and work it into western wear as long as you make it your own. Why be a copy-cat when you can be unique?
Do you have any mainstream fall fashion trends you are working into the western mix this season?
