All Hat No Cattle?
Last week, while paying close attention to Mercedez-Benz Fashion week, I posted this pic over on Facebook and noted that I would find a way to work the look into my wardrobe (but I’d wear a little more underneath)…well, I think Y’all thought I was probably all hat no cattle on this one!
Hate to tell you, but when it comes to fashion, I pony up EVERY time!
So, I took the piece that I was most enthralled with (the skirt) and tried to work it into MY style. To me, this is the secret of bringing the runway into your wardrobe. Don’t try to be a carbon copy…pick one piece and try to add it into YOUR repertoire.
The skirt I found isn’t nearly as intricate (or beautiful) as the one on the runway…but mine was only $19
and for a trendy item, I can live with that! Sometimes reality must prevail, right?
That said, I did possess the pieces to kinda try to copy the look a LITTLE…so here’s MY rendition…
Sheer Skirt-Winners (found it in the swimsuit section…it’s a coverup); Black Leather Skirt-MICHAEL Michael Kors (also seenĀ here); Lace Top-Joe Fresh; Denim Jacket (thrifted); Leather Vest-Zara (old); Cowboy Boots-Tony Lama’s; Muck Boots-Joe Fresh; Necklace – Mexico; Flower Ring-Junk Gypsy Company
So I’m curious. Which way do you prefer? If any…lol!
Seriously though, would you wear this look? And if so, how would YOU make it your own?
Have a great day Y’all!
Love,
Suzie

Love both your looks, the runway outfit is a bit “busy”. Wish I COULD wear both those looks but choose to live vicariously through you
Thank you Rhonda! But you know you could wear the parts of them that work for YOU…just choose one element and work it into what you’re already doing
I’d love to give it a go.
If you do, send me pics Michelle
Ah Ms. Salmon, right outfit on the right day, again.
Thank you! Always happy to oblige Kelly
As soon as I find/sew one up, I most certainly will!
Love it! I have a vintage lace body suit from Victoria’s that would be spectacular with this…but, it is not going on me
Let me see if I can dig that puppy up!
How fun! Can’t wait to see it
I love that skirt! I like the look of the jean jacket and cowboy boots with it! it’s like rocker meets cowgirl and the tooled leather clutch complements it well!
Thanks Jessica! I love that skirt so much, I just bought fabric to try to make my own version of the couture one! Wish me luck because my sewing machine has at least an inch of dust on it from seeing so little use these days! Lol!
